Family garden - Brondesbury

The client recently moved into this property with her two young children. The large garden had lots of potential but was not in an attractive state. It had been neglected and the bottom half was overgrown and uninhabitable.

We created a beautiful garden with abundant planting to give stunning views from the house and the patio. The corten steel moongate sculpture formed a focal point to encourage a journey through the garden to a further destination area so all areas of the garden are now enjoyed.

We designed borders with an organic informal shape and naturalistic planting style. The borders were defined with corten steel metal edging and planted with an elegant mixture of trees, shrubs and perennials which would offer beautiful and evolving textures and colours throughout the year. We included lots of attractive pollinator friendly flowers which will return year after year.

The lawn was retained for the children to play football but reshaped and improved. Rather than returfing we reseeded the bare areas – better for the environment and less expensive.

The area at the end of the garden was transformed into a secluded woodland area for relaxation. The corten steel moongate marks the transition into the shaded woods where a hammock is strung between trees and a firepit and chairs invites evening gatherings.
