The Design Process

Designing in collaboration with you

Initial consultation

We will meet with you at your home to gain an understanding of what you want from your garden and how we can help you achieve your dream garden. This could be anything from designing a planting scheme for one area which you would like to improve to completing a whole garden redesign.

Fee Proposal

We will provide a fee proposal with our design fee and an outline of the design process including whether other professionals will be needed in the design process eg structural engineer, surveyor, tree specialists etc.

In depth site analysis

If you are happy to proceed we will then undertake a detailed site survey, site analysis, client questionnaire and further in depth discussions with you to inform the design.

The design – mood board and concept design

Once we have worked on your design we will meet again to present a mood board and initial design for your garden where you can give feedback.

Following this we will make adjustments and finalise the design and create a garden design and planting plan which is drawn to scale and ready to implement. It will include the names and quantities of materials and plants together with specifications and conformity to building regulations.

Implementing the design

There are a number of options here depending on the scale of the work to be undertaken and your preference:

We can suggest trusted landscapers that would be suitable for realising your project.

Ostara Garden Design offer a planting service – we can supply the plants from a reputable nursery and plant them for you.

Garden maintenance schedule and follow up visits

We care about the long term success of your garden design and planting scheme and design with this in mind.

We offer a plant care and maintenance schedule and visit to talk this through and regular follow up visits.
