Green project - Hornsey

Green sedum roof – Front Garden, Hornsey

This bespoke wooden bin shed with sedum roof creates a beautiful focal point whilst hiding unsightly council bins. Within this urban concreted street it also provides an extra green space to soak up rain water, absorb CO2, cool the atmosphere and provide a wildlife habitat. In the future this client plans to use our environmentally friendly rain garden design in their front garden.

Rain Garden front garden design

Rain gardens are a wonderful way of harvesting water and avoiding over burdening our drainage systems- particularly useful in our urban areas.

A beautiful rain chain connected to the downpipe directs rain water into an attractive corten steel water storage container, the overflow of this leads to a shallow dip. In very wet conditions this fills and becomes a pool. The planting is cleverly designed to include plants which will thrive in either dry or wet conditions.

The driveway has been designed with a permeable gravel and clay paver tracks for the car to drive on. Between the gravel and pavers low resilient planting offer more environmental benefits and create a beautiful and colourful patchwork effect.

Our designs create resilient garden spaces which can protect against climate change. Our designs can prevent flooding and pollution of our waterways through the management of rain and waste water in your garden.

We are passionate about building green roofs, water harvesting, rain gardens, permeable paving solutions, pollinator friendly planting, drought tolerant planting and creating insect and animal habitats…..
